SALISBURY, N.C. — A NASCAR owner-driver was booked Wednesday on charges he stole a former teammate-turned-competitor’s hauler.
Mike Harmon, of Mike Harmon Racing, was arrested in Cleveland County on felony larceny and breaking and entering charges. Sheila Rae Rice was also arrested on the same charges.
Both posted a $10,000 bond.
Rowan County deputies said Harmon stole a 2004 Ultra hauler from Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing Saturday morning. The Mooresville race shop sent NBC Charlotte surveillance video of the hauler driving off the lot.
The hauler was valued at more than $250,000. According to driver/owner Jennifer Jo Cobb, the team’s equipment was also taken.
“At least $50,000 worth of driving gear,” explained Cobb. “So now I have to borrow helmets, harness devices, find old uniforms that they can wear and hope that they haven’t gone out of certification because there are safety ratings on everything.”
Cobb added that teams had donated enough to ensure JJCR would be able to participate in this weekend s races in Charlotte.
After bonding out of jail, Harmon defended himself online, tweeting, I want it known that I have never stolen so much as a piece of bubble gum in my life. I did not take JJC hauler, there is no video of me anywhere near her shop. Today she was the windshield & I was the bug, but when we get in FEDERAL court in a couple wks there’s a boulder coming.
Harmon is a former team manager of JJC Racing.

Hello I’m planning to go to Australia with my wife and son as partner with her student visa. The question is if it’s a good idea to buy a truck and start working as owner driver, we are planning to move to Brisbane and buying a truck that cost around 20 thousands.

It is. I understand the safety part but you can’t take away a runners way to break tackles and even protect himself? This rule will hurt so many backs in todays game. In 20 years we will see the National Flag Football League that is 100% speed guys. The Raiders plan will finally pay off

Shipper KC International Freight Forwarding – GT40s.com
At the advice of another forum member I selected KC International Freight Forwarding as my shipping coordinator.
It was a bit of a mixed bag in that they did have a misstep with a selection on the Customs paperwork, the Customs price estimate was off by a good bit, and one part of the shipping the trucking company they selected ended up dropping the ball. That said, they really, and I mean really, scrambled to get things done when it came to crunch time and they even refunded part of my money when they had to change trucking companies at the last minute after I pitched a fit when they (the trucker) screwed up.
In short, I’d use them again now that they have had an experience shipping a couple GT40 kits in (one to NY and one to TX).
